Treatment of Asperger's Disorder
Asperger’s Disorder becomes more of a problem in the social and behavioral world as the patients approach high school. Because the symptoms of the disorder change as the patient matures, the treatments used must also change.
The learning deficiencies normally seen in younger patients are often treated by special education services. These programs are helpful in encouraging sufferers to be more socially active and work with peers. Once the patient reaches the teenage years, therapy is often used to reinforce the ability to interact socially with peers. This is important because relationships and friendships become more complicated.
