Keeping Your Cool

You've probably figured out by now that not only is life hard, but it sucks sometimes. At times you just want to cry, or scream, or even hit something, but those options are generally counterproductive (although they seem like a good idea at the time).

People who aren't able to cope with life's hardships tend to make a bad situation worse. Knowing how to handle confrontation, disappointments or setbacks will enable you to keep your cool in tough situations, keeping you from doing something you might regret later on. Being able to deal with things in a calm manner can also help reduce stress and the risk of burnout, which will actually help keep you in good overall health. Find relaxation techniques that work for you like listening to your favorite CD, going for a walk or jog, or calling up a friend to vent.

Still Keeping Your Cool

Getting angry or losing your temper doesn't solve anything and usually works against the process of solving the problem. The next time you get rejected after a job interview, from the college of your choice, or that hottie you were eyeing in English class, keep it together. Remember that nobody's perfect - we all have our strengths and weaknesses. Everyone goes through life's trials and tribulations.

How well are you able to handle stressful situations?
I'm awesome under pressure!
I freak out!
Depends on the situation
Not sure
