The CDC National AIDS Hotline is operated under contract with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The hotline handles questions about prevention, risk, testing, treatment and other HIV/AIDS- related concerns. The Division of STD Prevention, at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, provides national leadership through research, policy development, and support of effective services to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and their complications. They translate and distribute current, science-based information on STDs.

Herpes Hotline: (919) 361 – 8488 (M-F, 9-6PM)

The National Herpes Hotline (NHH) provides accurate information and appropriate referrals to anyone concerned about herpes. Trained Health Communication Specialists are available to address questions related to transmission, prevention and treatment of herpes simplex virus (HSV). The NHH also provides support for emotional issues surrounding herpes such as self-esteem and partner communication.
