Good Study Skills or Bust!
Unhappy with your grades?  Forget when homework assignments are due?  Having a hard time studying effectively?  If so, then read on to learn how YOU can develop great study skills and improve your academic performance!

Imagine you went to school one day to find out that you had a math test at 9 a.m.!  How could you not have known about the test?  Did you just forget?  Where did you write it down?  If this, or something like this, has happened to you, don’t worry—you are not alone!

Every day, tons of your classmates go to school without knowing what assignments are due and when they are due.  Even if students remember to turn in their homework, they may still feel unsure about how well they understand the material or if they did a good job on the assignment.  This is due, in part, to a lack of good study skills.  Fortunately, there are ways to help you get on track.

First, think about your study habits.  Do you write your assignments down in one special location, or jot them down on the first piece of paper (or book cover) available?  Is your backpack clean and organized, or does it look like a tornado blew through it?  Do you do your homework in front of the television, or do you sit at the kitchen table?  Do you go to bed at a reasonable time, or do you stay up late on school nights?

Identifying even the smallest habits will make a huge difference as you work on improving your study skills.  This, in turn, will lead to better grades and a more valuable school experience!

So, where should you begin?  Well, you’ve already started, just by checking out this WARM2Kids website!  The rest of this topic will give you great tips and hints for organizing your schoolwork and getting yourself in gear for the school year!

“Before learning how to take tests, I thought the material was too hard. Now I realize that I just needed to learn and study the subjects in a way that makes sense and is most successful for me!”
