Avoiding A Prom Disaster
It’s a big night so get all the details down to make sure that your prom goes smoothly.  Don’t wait until the last minute to find a date; don’t forget to find a dress or tux, and definitely LEARN HOW TO DANCE!  Prom season can be tricky so take these survival tips to heart.

If anybody were to write a short user-friendly book of instructions on how to prepare for PROM NIGHT, it would begin with the following sentence:

Hope for the best; prepare for the worst; and be ready for anything. Once you’ve gotten a date, it’s time to:

  1. Pick out a dress or tuxedo
  2. Make pre-prom reservations if you’re going out to dinner or renting a limousine
  3. Decide where you will meet your friends to take pictures
  4. Order your corsage or boutonniere
  5. Plan where the after-prom party is going to be held

Helpful Hints:

1.  Don’t wait until the last minute to choose a dress. If you do, the only truly fabulous dresses left may not be in your size. As for tuxedos, they could cost more the closer it gets to prom night. You may also need time to alter your gown or tuxedo.

2.  Check your wallet. Dinner and limo reservations can be quite expensive. Prom night is special, but keep in mind all the other important things you need to spend your money on too.

3.  Check your wallet. Is a professional photographer the only one you want clicking away? Get a family member to take pictures and use a disposable camera if you don’t already own a camera.

4.  Buy a disposable camera to bring along if you wish to take pictures during the actual prom. People can lose cameras or mistake your camera for theirs. You don’t want your parent’s camera to fall in the pool at the after prom party, do you?

5.  Lastly, BE SAFE, and HAVE FUN!
