Treating Appendicitis
If you experience any symptoms of appendicitis seek treatment as soon as possible.  It is vital to be treated before there is any tissue damage.
 A swollen appendix must be removed surgically and requires a hospital stay of about 3 days.  During this time, fluids and antibiotics are given intravenously.
