Treating Anemia
Anemia is often treated with chemotherapy or simply with iron supplements to fight an iron-deficiency in the blood.  There are also some things that you can do to make it easier to deal with the symptoms.

The following are some preventative measures to help deal with the symptoms of anemia
If your hemoglobin levels fall:

  • Check for an infection that uses up extra iron
  • Take multivitamins that have a high iron dose

If you have anemia, you feel very tired.  If this happens you should:

  • Try to take time and relax
  • Improve your diet
  • Ask others to help you with errands
  • Give yourself extra time to finish tasks
  • Limit your moderate to intense energy level activities

Amgen's Neulasta is used to prevent chemotherapy-related infections.
