The CDC National AIDS Hotline is operated under contract with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The hotline handles questions about prevention, risk, testing, treatment and other HIV/AIDS- related concerns. Information Specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to answer questions and provide referrals.
Herpes Hotline: (919) 361 – 8488 (M-F, 9-6PM)The National Herpes Hotline (NHH) provides accurate information and appropriate referrals to anyone concerned about herpes. Trained Health Communication Specialists are available to address questions related to transmission, prevention and treatment of herpes simplex virus (HSV). The NHH also provides support for emotional issues surrounding herpes such as self-esteem and partner communication.

Among the many other services and goals of this organization, they aim to provide educational programs which enhance understanding of individual and societal implications of human sexuality. Counselors can give advice on how to talk about sex. Call for answers to medical questions or to locate or schedule an appointment with your nearest Planned Parenthood center.
CDC National STD/HIV Hotline1-800-227-8922 The Division of STD Prevention, at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, provides national leadership through research, policy development, and support of effective services to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and their complications. They translate and distribute current, science-based information on STDs.
