Maintain a Healthy Body Image!
Maintaining a healthy body image is vital to your physical and mental well-being. Those who obsess over their bodies are often tempted to practice unsafe eating and exercise habits. Be realistic with the goals you set for yourself; nobody’s perfect.

Love Yourself
There are a number of ways you can learn to be happy with your body.  Begin by looking into the mirror and saying three things out loud that you like about what you see.  You can choose to either repeat the same three things every day or find new features you like!

Be Positive
Remain active in your school and community.  Participating in the activities you enjoy will allow you to focus on the good things in life rather than the negatives.

Get Active
Joining a gym will also help you shed a few extra pounds if you are concerned about your weight.  You may choose a gym that has members similar to you!  Sharing stories about body image will help you realize that you are not alone!  All people, at some point, struggle with some aspect of their bodies.

Know Your Limitations
In addition, remind yourself that you cannot change everything.  Your height, for example, is genetic and is unable to be modified.  By realizing this fact, you will take the pressure off of yourself to eliminate a problem that may or may not exist.

Be Realistic
Finally, set realistic goals.  Don’t try to be as thin as that super model in the magazine.  Rather, take a look at a real-life role model and assess his or her size and weight.  Chances are, they are happy and healthy without having to be that size 0 in the advertisement!

Overall, having a better body image and accepting the person you are will help you lead a happier life!  Don’t be so down on yourself—nobody’s perfect!

Scenario
Schoolmates can sometimes be intimidating especially if you feel you are not as thin or good looking as they are.  Fortunately, there are ways to deal with the pressures of looking good at school while sustaining a positive body image.
