Plastic Surgery Alternatives If you are feeling depressed or self conscious, maybe even considering plastic surgery because of how you feel about the way you look, think again! There are many healthy and inexpensive ways to feel better and happier without leaving you with scars or bruises.
- Exercise is the best option. With a healthy diet and varied conditioning, you can boost your metabolism. In doing so, you can shed unwanted pounds in unwanted areas, and even have more energy. The best part is it’s free! As for plastic surgery, it is very expensive, and you can’t say that it internally boosts your levels of energy, making you less tired and more content.
- If exercise and diet aren’t for you, consider some new clothing or hair styles, something to spice it up a bit, all without spending thousands. Some clothing can hide parts of your body you consider ‘flaws’, better than others. Try and find these types of clothing, or forgot about your flaws entirely. Why? Because everybody has them! Now, it may be hard to ignore your flaws when you know change is an option, but liposuction or any other plastic surgery just does not seem to be worth it.
Make the Right Decision There is a lot to consider before you have any surgical procedure done. What are the risks? What are the benefits? What are the emotional, financial and physical consequences? If surgery is necessary because of health problems, such as a nose job to breathe easier or a breast reduction due to severe back pain, still research the surgery so that you know what to expect. Find out about insurance, risks, possible complications and recovery periods. Talk to your doctor and family before making your final decision. Your health is no joke.
How to Find the Eight Plastic Surgeon Do your own research! Find names and contacts for plastics surgeons in your area, and interview them yourself. View some examples of their work, including before and after pictures, and try to come up with a good feel for both the type of person the doctor is, and how dexterous he is. View his before and after photos, and make sure you appreciate the doctor’s work. You do not want to get plastic surgery from a doctor whose work has worries you.
If your problem isn’t interviewing the surgeons, but rather finding those closest to you, try calling the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at 1-703-549-3223 for a list of board certified doctors in your area. Also, good for referrals are cosmetologists and hairstylists. Being in the appearance business, both have seen the results and scars of people’s plastic surgery. The likelihood is that they are not afraid to talk to clients and have compared a lot of the local surgeons’ work. If your local cosmetologist or hair stylist has experience, they can prove to be fairly reliable resources.
