Your Brain’s Air Bag
When your body is healthy, it works as smoothly as a fine tuned automobile.  But, just like cars, sometimes things can go wrong – something can get into the system and create problems.
Your body is full of cool little built-in protective devices.  You might not think of the cushiony stuff that keeps your brain from banging into the hard wall of your skull.  This cushion is made up of the cerebrospinal fluid and the meninges.  Together, these two things form sort of an air-bag for your brain – they protect it from harmful impact.  Sometimes, though the cerebrospinal fluid and the meninges can get infected or swell up.  When this happens, a person has meningitis.
