This is a good resource for all things skin related. You can look up a dermatologist in your area (dermatologists specialize in treating skin diseases and problems) and look up information on specific conditions. Go to EczemaNet for detailed treatment information.
This is more information on atopic dermatitis than you could ever possibly need! Every question you could ask is answered here – the site covers everything from stages and symptoms to the annual costs of treating AD in the U.S.
This is an interesting site, in part because of its message board. You can talk to others with itching/scratching problems, and exchange advice. There is a complete list of researchers studying itching in countries all over the world.
This site has a lot of great information on it. There is even a full pamphlet you can “flip” through, which has advice for parents who have children with eczema. There is also a newsletter, with letters from people dealing with eczema (aptly named “The Scratch Pad”).
Under My Skin: A Kid’s Guide to Atopic DermatitisBy Karen Crowe (illustrations by Norm Bendell)
This is a cool book for kids with AD. You can download it (for free!) from this site. There is useful information on not only the physical symptoms and treatment of AD, but also the emotional side effects that kids experience. A good resource if your child has had trouble fitting in with other kids because of his or her AD.
