Diseases and Disabilities

You can be born with a disease or disability; some accidents or health issues result in them. Either way, for those with an intellectual, physical, sensory, emotional, or behavioral disorder, life can be extremely difficult.
There are so many organizations and advocacy programs searching each day for cures or ways to improve the quality of life for such individuals. However, while going through treatment or learning to cope with an illness, these people need lots of support and understanding from family and friends.

More On Diseases

Understand that a disease or disability doesn’t make a person any less important. He or she may function differently and have special needs, but we all have individual needs. If you or someone you know shows signs of a disease or disability, seek help immediately and remember that you are not alone. It will be frustrating at times, but getting early treatment can help reduce the risk of a disease turning fatal or a disability holding you back from doing the things you love.

What is the most common condition among individuals under 20 years old?
Asthma
Lung cancer
AIDS
Diabetes
