Treating Binge Eating Disorder
One of the more popular ways to treat eating disorders is by using therapy to alter the thought patterns of the sufferers.  This method is commonly used in the treatment of Binge Eating Disorder.

Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT) is the most common treatment for BED, but techniques in Drug and Interpersonal therapy are also used.  CBT is a method that involves correction of the distorted thinking, which is suspected to be the cause of the disorder.  If that does not yield enough improvement, drug and interpersonal therapies are used with CBT to get a more complete recovery.

Interpersonal therapy is more of an independent technique, where the patient does not directly face his or her psychological distress, but instead examines irrational behavior with the help of a therapist or support group. Drug therapy alters brain chemistry to form a more balanced brain on the chemical, level.

Who is at the highest risk of becoming a binge eater?
A middle aged man
An obese person
Women and girls
Boys between 6 and 10
