Yoga and Pilates are Everywhere
Whether you’ve heard about yoga and pilates from Madonna or Homer Simpson, it doesn’t matter. What does matter is that you’ve heard of them before. Even if you’re not into exercising or Madonna, you can’t help being exposed to these two ancient, yet modern, forms of exercise.

Yoga and Pilates have been around for ages, but not until now were they considered trendy.  Due to celebrity endorsements and testimonies stating that, not only do yoga and pilates make you feel better physically, but also mentally, the market for them has taken off.  Every time you turn around there’s a new kind of yoga or a new piece of equipment to aid you in your pilates workout. There are videos, DVDs, mats, balls, rings, and bars. If that’s not enough check out your local gym.  It will have a variety of classes that you can choose from. There’s something for everyone: kids, adults, movie stars, athletes, dancers, pregnant women, senior-citizens, even people recovering from an injury.
These exercises are beneficial in many ways. They improve balance and concentration. All of that stretching makes your body appear longer and leaner. The slow and steady movements build muscle like you’ve never seen before. The controlled and deep breathing helps to relax you and keep you in a calm state. The benefits of yoga and pilates are endless. If the popularity of these exercises continues you just might start seeing yoga and pilates in gym class.
