Fitness Finesse
The gym isn’t the only place to work out.  Whether it’s a run with your headphones, a game with some friends, or lifting free weights in your room, you can get your physical activity in every day and have fun doing it!

There are endless commercials advertising diets and weight loss programs, and about a hundred different gyms you can join.  The push for eating right and staying in shape has never been as strong as it is now, and for good reason.  About 1/3rd of the American adult population is overweight, and one in five teens is.  That’s about 70 million Americans.  Yikes!

So you can ``understand why people have been putting healthy eating and exercise in the spotlight.  But what if you’re uncomfortable with the idea of a gym?  Or you don’t have the money?  Or you just hate running and think you’d look like a jerk on the machines?  Maybe you’d rather be outside or with your friends.  No matter what your style is, there’s a workout type that’s right for you.

Try to get in some form of exercise every day, whether it’s a long, brisk walk, playing soccer with your friends, or an hour at the gym.  Even if it’s only for fifteen minutes, that’s still something.  Every little bit really counts, and if you keep it up you’ll see a difference in your physical health in no time.

Proper nutrition and regular exercise is the only guaranteed way to lose weight, keep it off, and stay in shape.  You’ll have more energy, be more flexible, have more endurance, and just be healthier all around.  So the next time you think about vegging out on a sunny day, grab some friends to play a sport, or take your iPod and go running, and get moving!

How often do you exercise?
Daily-I try to get some form of exercise in every day
Weekly-I don't go to the gym everyday but I still work out on a pretty regular schedule
Monthly-I hit the gym when I can
Exercise? What's that?
