Horrendous Heartburn
What you write off as a simple case of indigestion could be something a lot more.  Acid reflux could be the culprit.

It seems like pretty much every time you eat you get heartburn.  You've got that gross taste in the back of your mouth and your stomach is killing you.  You figure you might as well lie down and sleep it off but that only makes it worse.  It doesn't seem to matter what or when you eat either.  It's getting so bad that you don't want to eat anymore so you won't have to feel this way.  Your parents tell you it's just a little heartburn and toss you some antacids, but those only help a little.  Are you not supposed to eat ever again?

This is not your body's sick way of trying to make you go on a diet.  It's something just as serious, though, but not as twisted.  Acid reflux could be your problem.  A muscle in your esophagus that prevents the stomach acids from going back into your throat isn't functioning quite right, and as a result you get that burning sensation and gross taste.

There is no cure for acid reflux and it is a lifelong condition, but there are treatments that make it very easy to live with.  Some simple lifestyle changes along with some prescription or over-the-counter medications and you should be back to good in no time.  The occasional heartburn is normal, but you won't be suffering nearly as much as you are now.

Surgery is an option for those pesky acid reflux cases that just don't want to go away.  No matter how severe yours is, there's a treatment option out there that will work for you and chances are your doctor can point you in the right direction.  You might not be able to eat all the fatty food and pizza you want, but that could be a blessing in disguise for your overall health, if not for your taste buds.
