Have you ever been broke?  Well, it's just like it sounds.  You have no money so you are unable to go many places or do many things.  Like a broken down car, you are completely out of commission.

Being broke is no joke!!  But you know that already.  One way to keep from running out of cash is to make a budget. 

Creating a budget isn’t that hard; it just takes a little planning.  Think of your allowance or the money that you have to spend each month as if it is a pie.  If you had five friends come over and they each wanted a piece, you’d need to cut the pie into six slices, including yours.  This is the way the pie would look divided into six equal pieces:

To make a budget, you have to divide what you have (money, not pie!) into the number of things your money has to buy.  Unlike the pie, the pieces of your budget probably won’t be equal.  Example: you may have to budget more money for buying lunches than for renting videos or getting movie tickets. 

Below is another pie-shaped object.  It is a SAMPLE BUDGET.  This is the way someone getting thirty dollars a week might spend the money:
