We all have our bad days for whatever reason. Maybe you fail a test, get cut from the team, or your girlfriend broke up with you. Perhaps it's something more serious, like your parents are getting a divorce or you move to another town and have to start all over again. Or maybe you just woke up on the wrong side of the bed and are just in a bad mood for no reason at all.
We've all been there. Sometimes it's just for one day, or it lasts a week; maybe it's a funk that you just can't seem to shake. But it'll pass, as these things often do. We pass the next test, find another activity to take the place of the sport, or find someone new to date. We see that it's better for our parents to be apart and make new friends. We have our moments of self-pity and then we move on.
Suicide pacts, while not in the media spotlight, are a very real phenomenon that happen all over the world, especially in Japan. When people can't snap out of those funks they think there's nothing left to live for and meet others who feel the same way. They come up with plans for how and when they can commit suicide, so they have someone to die with.
There is never a reason to kill yourself. Life is never so bad that it's worth dying. Committing suicide with someone else isn't any better of an idea. This doesn’t prove their love or devotion to you. This simply means they want to die and want to die with someone. If you are thinking about a suicide pact, or someone you know is in one, it isn't too late - you can always get help. There are a variety of places you can go, and remember that there are people who love you and will miss you.
