Learn to care about what you are doing daily. Try to involve kindness, self-esteem, and obedience in everything that you do. This will help you to stay interested in it.
It is important to realize the value of truth, honesty and discernment. Staying true and being honest about what you are doing will help others to believe in it and in you.
Have discipline and self-control in order to achieve dependability. When you show these characteristics to others, they will trust you and give you the support necessary to stick with what you are doing.
Working well with others will help you to complete tasks quickly and with more creative and interesting results. If you are in a position of authority, handle it with generosity and encourage those you are working with. This will keep them motivated, too.
Learn to be humble and understanding in order to gain respect and support from others. Again, without the support of others – it can be difficult to stay on track and keep motivated.
Have the courage to start something, the motivation to see it through, and the morality to keep it ethical.
Endurance, diligence, and optimism are the key ingredients of perseverance. Keep it up, keep it focused and keep it positive!
PERSISTENCE: Sticking in there when the going gets tough. Still trying without calling it quits right away is one attitude, which separates the real men (and women) from the boys (and girls).
Read the following poem. While reading it, keep in mind some mistake you made, some failure you had, some time you gave up on yourself:
WHEN THINGS GO WRONG…AS THEY OFTEN DO WHEN YOU FEEL THAT EVERYBODY’S PICKING ON YOU. WHEN YOU’RE FEELING SO LOW, YOU WANT TO CRY AND YOU TRY TO PITY YOURSELF…NEVER QUIT.
WHEN LIFE WEARS YOU DOWN…BIT BY BIT, KEEP ON TRYING…NEVER QUIT.
LIFE IS SO STRANGE WITH ITS TWISTS AND TURNS; BUT SOONER OR LATER…EVERYONE LEARNS, THAT MANY A FAILURE IS TURNED ABOUT BY THE PERSON WHO STAYED…AND STUCK IT OUT.
DON’T GIVE UP, OR RUN OFF, OR COMPLAIN OR SIGH. YOU JUST MAY SUCCEED…WITH ONE MORE TRY. THE GOAL THAT YOU’RE AFTER MAY NOT BE TOO FAR YOU MAY BE MORE CLOSER THAN YOU THINK YOU ARE
TOO OFTEN THE STRUGGLER HAS GIVEN UP HOPE: WHEN…WITH ONE MORE TRY HE COULD LEARN TO COPE FOR SUCCESS IS FAILURE TURNED INSIDE OUT IT’S THE SILVER LINING IN A CLOUD OF DOUBT.
SO…GIVE IT YOUR BEST, THOUGH YOU’RE BADLY HIT WHEN THINGS SEEM THE WORST KEEP TRYING…DON’T QUIT.
Quit gracefully when it is necessary Before you do anything else, weigh your options. Make sure that you are leaving a job or other unfavorable situation for the right reasons. Ask yourself if leaving will improve your situation. Will you be better off or is the problem going to follow you? Unless the situation is unbearable or inferior to the alternatives, DON’T QUIT! This is especially important when a job is concerned. Do not choose unemployment over boredom or restlessness. Be prepared for the future by having another job or comparable situation lined up and check to make sure that there are no damaging relationships between the two.
Once you are certain that this is the right move, give warning to your boss (at least two weeks) or the people that you will be leaving out or leaving behind. You don’t want to leave on a sour note. Burning bridges can cause a backlash socially or harm your chances for getting a recommendation in the future.
In keeping with this, it is best to inform your boss, friend or acquaintance in person that you will be leaving. Give them your reasons for wanting to leave the job or situation that you are in and try not to place blame. Be sure to keep in touch with the acquaintances that you have made in the event that you need them in the future.
