Hangin' with the Fam
Sometimes you might agree with what the famous comedian George Burns once said: "Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city." But don't write off your family as a lost cause! It's normal to feel upset or angry with your family sometimes.

Does your family drive you crazy? Do you wish you lived anywhere else in the world? Sometimes it's really tough to get along with your family, we know (trust me, do we know). After all, you're becoming more and more independent every day and your parents might still want to treat you like you're eight. One day you might think your dad is pretty cool when he extends your curfew by an hour, but the next day your younger brother might show your naked baby pictures to you crush.

What Can I Do?

How you relate to your family might change on a day-to-day basis, but remember that your family is still there for you. We might not be able to choose what our siblings are like, or how cool our parents are, but we can learn how to live with the family we're born into. As a teen, you might be building new kinds of relationships with your family. Relate to your family through shared experiences. Who knows, maybe your mother was a rebel back in high school, or your pesky little sister will someday be your best friend.

How would you describe your family?
Very tight
Close but with a lot of breathing room
We live together peacefully but don't talk much.
We barely ever see each other
Any talking in our house is usually fighting
