Just making the decision to attend college is a big one. There is so much to think about like location, school size, what courses are offered etc. In addition, there is the financial burden and seemingly pointless exams that apparently determine how intelligent you are. SATs, ACTs, 480, 610, 800 on verbal, the dream of medical, business, or beauty school. Whatever the standardized test or the score, there is a college for everyone, and at the same time, college is not for everyone. But if you do decide to seek further education after high school, there are helpful tools to assist you with each step.
There is the issue of a selecting a school, then applying to those schools and awaiting acceptance, all the while, you will be listing the pros and cons of each from the cost, location and class size to the admission standards, Greek life, and athletic ranking. Whatever sways your decision, take your time and enjoy the process. College visits are not that bad; you may get to experience parts of the country you have never seen before.
Once at college, the atmosphere, pace and course load is often significantly more difficult than high school. It is important to be prepared and not to get discouraged. With all the new adjustments, freshman year in college can be very difficult.
