Going to College?

Heading to Campus
College promises to be fun. Finally, the freedom and independence you've been waiting for is here. Moving out of the house, no curfew, the option of going to class or doing work…wonderful! But there are a few things to consider. You're leaving home for maybe the first time in your life, you'll probably have a stranger for a roommate at least freshman year, and the course load and money issues are going to kick your ass. Fun, see? But some of these obstacles can be avoided (not the slob roommate, though; you're on your own for that one).

Tips and Info

Being prepared for college is not just about shopping for new college student clothes, or getting the contact info of all your high school friends. It’s also about applying for school and scholarships, grants or loans, taking entry exams, buying books and finding a way to pay for groceries (since cafeteria food usually sucks), the wonderful classes you'll be taking and, of course, room and board.

By preparing ahead of time, you'll be more comfortable and relaxed going in so you can enjoy your years of college.
