“Although Nobody’s Perfect, We’re All Role Models” is the ideal at the heart of WARM2kids. One good action, however personal, will lead to other good actions, and can ultimately make the world a better place. This ideal is the life goal of M.L. Carr, CEO and founder of WARM2Kids, and he has lived by this guide his whole life. The words represent the “pledge” of WARM2Kids.  What this really means is that these words make up all that we strive for as a company everyday.  We make this “pledge” everyday, and it is at the heart of all that we do. 

This “pledge” is a truth that everyone should understand, whether they’re 10 or 100 and whether they like it or not: We’re ALL Role Models.  Many of us usually only think of celebrities, parents, or other elders as role models, but it is a personal issue.  EVERY person sets an example to someone else, so that while your younger sister might not be a role model to you, you may be one to her. Beyond the age of 5 or so, most of us will have someone that looks up to us, or looks to us for guidance.  This makes all of us role models, because if only one person sees you as a role model to them, then you are one.  Just like the average football player looks up to Ricky Williams, both on and off the field, so too will someone younger or less experienced, look up to you.

What this “pledge” realizes is that we don’t live in a perfect world, and no one in our world is perfect. We all deal with our own problems, personal, social, family, health and so on.  Also, we all make bad choices, we all have things that we tend to do that we know are bad, we all make mistakes.  But all that is okay, in fact it’s normal.  Knowing this, however, comes with a responsibility.  This is a responsibility to both yourself and to others.  You are first responsible to yourself – to ask for help when you need it, to not allow yourself to suffer in silence, to take care of yourself.  Secondly you are responsible to others as a role model.  The choices you make and the way you live your life will inspire others to do the same.  When you are inspired to improve your own life, you will inspire others to improve theirs. Think about our “pledge”, and figure out how it can apply to you - realize reality, recognize your individual importance, make positive decisions and live a good life, and without really trying, you will have become a truly positive role model by motivating others to follow in your footsteps.  Without really trying you will have made the world a better place.
