Janine has lived in the Boston area for most of her life. However, she did spend four years in up-state New York to attend Union College where, as a psychology major, she decided that working with kids was her passion. During her sophomore year in college she was a counselor at a local school and home for adolescents with behavioral problems. Many of the problems that these children faced were due to learning disabilities, mental disorders and maltreatment during early childhood.
Growing up around role models in the sports arena, Janine had a chance to see how their selflessness and contributions to kids and disadvantaged families in the community made an impact. After realizing how strong the need is of children and parents who are not seeking help, Janine decided to join her brother on his mission to end silent suffering.
